Position Statements of the Center for American Nurses

The primary purpose of the Center’s Position Statements is to respond to current issues within the nursing workforce community; reflect current knowledge, and provide vision and direction to nursing policy and practice. A position statement may be generated from within the Policy Work Group, or referred from a Constituent Member Association, or affiliate member, or the Board of Directors of the Center, when there is a workforce issue of interest to the profession.

The statements were approved by the Center’s Board of Directors and presented for approval by the membership.

Prior to approval, the position statements were posted on the Center’s web site for comment period. The statements were then posted for review with edits recommended during the public comment period.
